Inside the Endocrinologist Mind

I got a chance to work with an endocrionologist inCarmelthis week, as part of my elective. It is interesting how they think. They try a lot to solve things that are a mystery to most doctors. My staff asked me, “Why do you think this person has hypokalemia?” “ What might be the causes?” I remembered the television series Dr. House in how he approach problems. We looked and discussed all the possibilities on the case. We decided on one most likely diagnosis, and afterwards he said, I really am excited to talk to this patient to know the cause of his hypokalemia. Very interesting, but I got a glimpse on what is going on inside an endocrinologist mind.
